“My dear Jesus, my Savior, is so deeply written in my heart, that I feel confident that if my heart were to be cut open and chopped to pieces, the name of Jesus would be found written on every piece.”

Please Note: Good News!!! Sunday Bible classes will resume
next Sunday at 9:15 A.M. Good classes for anyone interested.
Come and join us. You might find it highly encouraging.

On behalf of Susan and I and our family, we want to wish each
of you a special time of celebrating Christ’s birth. Our prayer is
that God will flood your minds with thoughts of the love and
goodness of Jesus, our Savior. After all, we do think you all
are special.” --Pastor Jim.

Alleluia, alleluia, the news is out today
The precious Son of God is born, what a glorious day
His mother Mary, step-father Joseph to watch over him
God’s messengers, the angels, had come earlier to them
To prepare them for this special time, the birth of God’s own son
The prophesied Savior, Son of God, the anointed one.
And now we see the shepherds come, eyes wide and full of awe
To behold the foretold one. They told others what they saw.
The wise men came from far away and gave their gifts so rare,
To the one who made it all, who brought His love to share,
They paid their homage to this child, so special and so small,
Who brought salvation to this earth, for the whole world, for all
Who would let Him rule their hearts, would let Him be their king,
For He longs so much to give to us that very special thing,
Forgiveness and salvation and eternal life as well
That was His message then, the news He came to tell,
And we need it oh, so very much, to live our lives today,
We need His wisdom and His Word to show us the right way,
So we join them by the manger, to worship and adore
The holy baby Jesus, who gave us all and more.

“He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy. He, the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.”

and Bible Study until January. See you then.

You came, Lord Jesus, you came to earth
And we celebrate Your Holy birth.
The prophets told us long ago
About how You would come and so
They waited and watched and looked above
For the promised One, so full of love
And You came, Lord Jesus, as the prophets said,
To sleep in Your humble manger bed.
The angels told the shepherds, who came to see you then,
And they saw You and your mother, and Joseph too, and when
They had seen it all they returned to their sheep
To continue as they had before, their silent watch to keep
But they did not remain silent, they told what came to be,
So we, too, should tell about this great event and see
That others have the chance to hear—their opportunity.
As we look back we realize just how much it meant,
For all of this to happen—the Savior has been sent.
And we come to Him and worship Him, our Savior and our king.
Who gives us all we’ll ever have, for He made everything.

Just two more weeks—it’s hard to wait
We check the closets, investigate,
Look under beds and everywhere
To see what may be hiding there.
We think of Christmases past and then
We start to look all over again.
What we’re looking for we do not know
It’s a mystery, we look and so
It comes to mind that what we’re looking for
Is not just things, but something more
Why are we keeping this holiday?
What does it really mean, you say ?
It’s a remembrance, don’t you see?
Of when God’s Son came to earth as a small baby
The One who made us was the Holy Child
The righteous one, the undefiled
Our Savior, sustainer, sinless, glorified,
Who came as a baby but also our guide
We thank you for your love and care
That goes with us everywhere.
We thank you for your birth and death
And resurrection too
You gave us everything we need
To draw close to You.
And that is why we keep this day
We love you Lord. Hip, hip, hooray!

12-03-2017 Thought for the week

Thought for the Week:
“You might say that the modern church is much like a FROZEN WATERFALL. It has all the form and shape of its early days, but none of the movement! Oh, that the fire of the Holy Spirit would come upon our churches.”

Special thanks to all of those who did such a nice job of decorating
the church for this year’s celebration of the birth of Jesus! Appre-
ciate all your efforts. Looks beautiful.

It’s time for Advent season again,
A time of year, a season when
We think of just what God has given
And how we find our way to heaven.
Advent season, what does it mean?
Why we know that it means the coming.
And just what coming can it be?
How does it apply to you and me?
The most important coming in history,
The coming of the one who set us free
From the consequences of our sin
And filled us full of hope again
The only one who lived on earth
Who had the value, had the worth
To carry the sin of all the ages
As we are told by the holy pages
And break us free from Satan’s power,
What a glorious day, what an amazing hour
When the mighty Prince of Peace was born
When He graced a stable, old and worn
With His presence, Let us give Him laud.
The one and only Son of God.
