Jan 27 2019 Thought for the week

“The Gospel looks to a future event that still is not fulfilled – the full revelation of the story and the Reign of Christ. He reigns already, but his reign is not yet manifest as it will be.” -- Thomas Merton.

LADIES, Helping Hands Ministries’ will be meeting on Tuesday of this week at 9:00 A.M. to work on our projects for Africa. Our special feature of the day will be our stone soup. To make it, each person brings half a cup of vegetables (no pasta, please)
and we put it all together for a nice winter warm-up. All ladies are welcome, so come join us for a fine time of fellowship.

Coming: Sun., January 20 –
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

Prayer Family for the Week: Leala and Niles Ledbetter.

Each time the calendar numbers change,
We wonder how our lives will re-arrange.
Will there be peace and joy and happy endings
Or challenges, trials and many fence mendings?
Will most things stay just like they are,
Or will we live a life that’s different by far?
With God’s help we can handle this day—
I guess our Heavenly Father made us that way
So we would always have to seek His grace
And long for the day we’ll see His face.
We need His strength and wisdom as well
To create the story our life is meant to tell
So we will pray and we will plan
To follow our Father’s “plan for man”.
We know not what will happen in this new year
But with God beside us we have nothing to fear.
