11/29/2015 Thought for the week

Thought for the Week:
“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, that I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by the grace of God, I shall do.”
-- Edward Everett Hale.

Thought for the Week:
”God is a giver, but he does not give happiness. He gives redemption, meaning, security, love, victory, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And happiness is our response to his gifts.”

11/15/2015 Thought for the Week

“Our weakness in prayer is owing largely to our neglect of this truth. Prayer is primarily a wartime walkie-talkie for the mission of the church as it advances vs the powers of darkness and unbelief…(not) a domestic intercom to call upstairs for more comforts in the den.”
-- John Piper
