Jan 12, 2020 Though for the week

“Flashlights are powerful but have limited life. Independent lights are powerful only at the beginning but fail in the long run. (Thus), the most dangerous people in the church are independent Christians who are living apart from the will of God.”

The weather turned cold, the rain has turned white
Some snow came down in the middle of the night,
Not a lot, just a slight reminder that winter’s here
So we need to check out our cold weather gear
In case the roads are not so good
Look out for children in the neighborhood
We know God watches over us, so we thank Him every day
For being right beside us and showing us the way
We thank God for His guidance and daily protection
And the unfailing love He sends in our direction.

Two verses to consider in this New Year
: “One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:13-14). After all, this may be the year we see Him face to face. Amen? Are you ready?

Prayer Family for the Week: Marty Wickline.

Just what shall we make of it, this untried, unexplored new year?
Will it bring abundant happiness, times of joy with family near,
Or will challenges beset us, prompting us to turn to God,
Realizing only He can guide us in our life upon this sod.
This earthly life is temporary, preparing us for what’s ahead,
For our eternal blessing, a life in heaven instead,
So thank You for whichever way this new year is planned to go
For we know that You’ll go with us, and that’s all we need to know.
