August 2017 Mission news

AUGUST MISSIONARIES OF THE MONTH are Jack and Nancy Snyder who serve with TEAM. We first met them when they attended and became members of our church, before becoming missionaries. Language school began for them in 1984 and they were in the field by 1987, so this is their 30th year of service. Their main job is printing Christian literature. Nancy also teaches the women. They plan to retire in 2018/19. Chad is a very difficult and challenging place to live. It is very hot and in some areas there has been a drought.

Recently they have had some serious health issues. In June Nancy developed a bad infection in her leg which is still healing (see picture on missions b.board). She also had a lump removed from her arm which they have sent to the lab stateside. Please pray that the results come back benign. Jack is currently being treated for malaria, has a mole needing removal that could be cancerous and also had kidney stones. He is exhausted so is requiring a lot of rest.

Please pray for them both, especially this month, as we focus on them as our missionaries. Pray that their bodies will heal completely. They want to “finish well” in the next year as they complete their ministry in Chad. 2 Thess. 3:1 “Brethren pray for us. . .”

Please take a few minutes to read the two emails that were received from them in June & July.
