Our featured mission for November is NOURISH PIERCE COUNTY, formerly known as FISH Food Banks. The name was changed recently for the following reasons:
- The former name was often misunderstood or proved confusing.
- They need to grow and believe that a new name and logo would better
serve their effort.
- They want to honor their founders.

The word Nourish is rooted in the Christian faith yet also speaks to the diversity of faiths represented in their clients, volunteers and donors.

70,000 unduplicated clients each year in underserved, impoverished areas are served. 700 volunteers stock shelves, repack food and help serve customers. Every $1 you donate allows them to distribute $7 worth of food.

Suggested food donation ideas:
Canned tuna, or chicken, peanut butter, soup, canned fruits or vegetables, baby food or infant formula, chili, or stew with meat

Nourish Food Banks have 7 locations plus a mobile food bank that serves 10 locations weekly. Our donations are given to the southeast Tacoma location on 85
th St. For more information see the display on the easel in the foyer.
