September mission news

Growing up, Mary Peterson and her family attended our church and she is still a member.  We have been supporting her since 1974 when she began missionary service with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Mary has taught kids in Columbia, So America, and done literacy work with kids and adults in Peru and Papua, New Guinea.  For the past several years she has worked at JAARS in Waxhaw, NC, the support arm of Wycliffe. Her department is involved in helping ship medicines, school books, airplane parts and whatever else is needed to encourage people that are often working in difficult locations.  Sea freight shipments are sent to 14 different countries.  Since Mary is at retirement age, she has decided to cut her work hours back to 20 a week.  Please pray for strength and energy as she continue to serve the Lord at JAARS.

Tacoma Area Youth for Christ is able to send adult leaders out into the schools, juvenile detention centers, and communities to bring the hope of Jesus to kids.  They say "THANKS" for your investment of time, prayers and finances.  The Tacoma YFC has more excitement and vision than ever before to reach more of the 100,000, 11-19 year olds across Pierce County.  They also have a foster care program.

---Please take a minute to read the short stories about some of the youth they minister to, which are on the YFC section of our missions bulletin board.
