January 2019 Mission News

Care Net of Puget Sound is our missions emphasis this month. It is a Christ-centered ministry. They offer hope by providing compassionate practical care, accurate information and life-affirming resources related to pregnancy, sexual health and abortion recovery. Their goal is to support women and their familiesm in all areas of their
Lives by serving the practical needs, as well as their emotional and spiritual needs.

They have 8 local centers – Fall City, Federal Way, Gig Harbopr, Kenmore, Lakewood, Puyallup, Seattle and Tacoma.

Their mobile unit is a new ministry and the van is currently being renovated with the hope to have it on the road early in 2019. This will help them reach women who need their services.
Care Net also has “Smart Programs” which allow them to give presentations at local schools. They also have a program to help women who have had abortions which is called “Healing Tide”.
January 20th is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. It is an observance declared by several U.S. presidents who opposed abortion and is observed the 3rd Sunday of January, which is the closest Sunday to the January 22nd date when the Supreme Court ruled in 1973 to give women constitutionally-protected right to abortion.
President Ronald Regan issued a proclamation creating the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day in January of 1984.
