MISSIONS NEWS FOR APRIL
BRIDGES OF LOVE NORTHWEST (formerly Love INC) Their mission is to mobilize the Church to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ. BL is a network of churches in Pierce County working together to help our neighbors in need. They help congregations organize to serve people in need and they are a central clearinghouse for requests which they resource out to those who can help. Their “Jobs for Life” program just had 7 graduates who are now ready to seek employment.
Their advice to churches is: if you encounter someone in need, give them the phone number for B of L, 253-531-2366. B of L will screen each caller carefully to find out their needs and why they are needy. They never tell people to contact churches, and money should never be given until the person is cleared through their clearinghouse. Pray for this ministry and their director, Sherry Phinisey.

TRINITY WESTERN UNIVERSITY is located in Langley, British Columbia and their current enrollment is 4,000. The vision began in 1957 when the Evangelical Free Churches of America wanted to establish a liberal arts college. The Seal Kap Dairy Farm in B.C.’s Frazer Valley was purchased and plans were developed to build a college. Trinity Junior College opened in 1962. Since its beginning it has held a unique vision for Christian liberal arts and sciences education in Canada. In 1985 the college became Trinity Western University. TWU offers 42 undergraduate majors and 17 graduate programs.
Pray for the college, its students, faculty and staff as they choose to work and study together in a manner and environment that is consistent with its Christian identity. Also pray for their proposed School of Law. Supreme Court hearings continue and if they win their case, thee school could possibly open by Sept. 2019. For more information, go to their website.
